7 Years

Here we are after 7 years!
And here we are 7 years ago! :)
Oh so young...

July 22, 2004 is the Day David and I got married. It was a Thursday and we got married in the Memphis, Tennessee Temple for time and all eternity. We then had a dinner at Corky's and then the next day we headed back to Hot Springs, Arkansas to have our reception. The day we got married was definitely one of the happiest and best days of my life, but the day after was not so much...my sweet husband decided to give ME a hickey on my chest for all the world to see and all of my reception photos captured the sweet gift my husband gave me. It was sooooo embarrassing and EVERYONE commented on it. Old people, young people, family, friends, EVERYONE. It was awkward. Luckily I didn't get it annulled that day and stayed with him. Yes, he is that lucky! :) Somedays it sees like we have been married for so much longer than 7 years (not always in a bad way) and somedays it feels like I can't believe we have 3 kids and have been together for so long.
The thing about David and me is that we argue...a lot sometimes. I am sure we make people think that we are crazy and don't really like each other, but we do! We have the same kind of weird humor, which is perfect, because we don't get offended by the other one's sarcastic remarks. I may pretend to be offended, but most of the time it is to give him a hard time and see him try to dig himself out of it. David is just perfect for me, because he has the same sense of humor, we laugh a lot at each other, he makes me laugh a ton, he can make almost anything that I think of, he is pretty patient with me (most of the time), he has a great family that I get to be a part of, he loves my family, he is a great dad, and luckily he is my eternal sweetheart!:)
So after 7 years of marriage, 5 moves, 3 kids, 1 dog and everything that comes with being married, I can honestly say how grateful I am that I married my best friend and am glad to be with him forever and raise our sweet and crazy family together. I love you Baby!:) Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary!

David and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary on July 22nd! I decided that I wanted a play set for the kids for my anniversary present, because that will make my life the happiest!:) So we looked and looked and looked for a play set that we both liked and that had everything we wanted, but just could not find it. The kids really wanted what they call a big "pirate ship." So then David just decided that he could build a better one on his own that we would actually like and have everything we wanted. So Saturday morning he started this huge project at about 9:00 a.m. He worked until about 8:30 that night and had made really good progress. Then today (Monday) he was off for Pioneer Day and finished about 6:30 tonight. He did an AMAZING job!! It is the coolest play house EVER!! The kids were so excited about it and played on it until we made them come in and get ready for bed. We are going to put some swings on it as well, but David needs a little break for a couple of weeks! We are also going to put some sand below it and a few other things, but for now it is just perfect. After 2 years of waiting, I am so excited to have a great place for the kids to play! I am so dang lucky to have a husband that can make all the things that I come up with in my head a reality. He can seriously do anything. I don't know how he can be so good at so many things, but he is. This will have may hours of fun in store for it. Thanks baby for my AMAZING anniversary gift!:)

A New Playhouse

Notice the difference in techniques they have.Maggie focused on one section until I would remind her to move on. David wanted to get every single inch of it painted!:)

Biscuit walked all over David's painted part and had it all over him

The finished project!

I have been feeling guilty lately because I spend majority of my time doing stuff for Parker and that leaves a very small amount of time for David and Maggie. So I decided to help them build a playhouse for the playroom. They painted them yesterday and then today we set it up in the playroom. They were so excited! We put some blankets and pillows in there and then they had a little picnic in their. They were pretty excited that Biscuit couldn't get in and eat their food! He was scratching at their door though and wanting to be a part of it.

Name This Baby!

Take a guess who this is....any takers?! Everyone who sees this says it is Parker and that I have just done some editing on it. Wrong! This is a picture of my dad! Parker's Grandpa DeVaux. Crazy huh? I saw this picture of my Dad when I was in Arkansas at my parents house and couldn't believe how similar Parker and Dad look. It really is amazing and fun to finally have a child with a little DeVaux in them!:)
And isn't it also funny how Dad has that hair line yet again?!:)

3 Months!!

Parker LOVES his hands!
He usually has a thumb or finger in his mouth. Not sucking on them, just chewing on them.

What a difference a month makes for a baby! Our little Parker Scott is like a completely different baby! He is usually always smiling and has even started laughing. He LOVES tummy time and has rolled over a few times. His first rolling was on Sunday, July 3rd. He did it about 3 times in a row. He is amazingly strong. I put him on his boppy to let him have some elevated tummy time and he pushed himself all the way off of it and kept going for about 6 inches after he had made it off of the boppy. I am very concerned that I probably only have a few more months of sanity before he is all over the place crawling. He isn't sleeping too good at night, BUT he can get himself to sleep, which is a huge thing for me! I love having a kid who can go to sleep without me feeding him. He loves to talk and "goo" and "gaa!" If somebody doesn't look at him for a short period of time, he will start fake crying until somebody looks at him and then he will give a big smile and a squeal. He is just too cute these days. He loves to be held and walked around, but he also has his moments, where he wants his space and to just lay with no one touching him...I love this time! :) He is quite the eater still and is a little chunk with a lot of rolls. He loves to watch Baby Mozart. It usually gives me a good 25 minutes to get a few things done. He loves having his fingers in his mouth. Usually his thumb, but sometimes he gets his pointer finger in there too. He likes to chew on a passy, but not so much to suck on it. He is a big time drooler. My hand is usually wet majority of the day from him dripping drool on me. He loves his hands and is usually holding them together. He can also hold his head up all the way, when he is on his tummy and just loves to look around.
Parker is 23 and 1/2 inches and weighs 13.5 pounds. He has gained 1 pound and 5 ounces in a month!

Bike Riding

David trying to avoid hitting Maggie!
Isn't this the cutest picture!:)
Oh so handsome!

Cute little Parker was just hanging out in the chair watching Mags and David ride their bikes!

Maggie loves to talk to Parker, when he is having his tummy time!

The kids had earned bikes a couple of months ago, but the weather was so wet that they never really got to ride them. We have finally had some nice weather the past month though, so the kids have been loving learning to ride. We had tried many times to teach David, but he was never interested. This year we made it a goal to teach him though. He is riding like a pro now! Maggie is still trying to get the hang of it, but is doing a lot better and I think a couple more times of practice and she will have it. It's been fun watching them learn though.

David's Last Day of School

David had his last day of Columbia Preschool on Tuesday, June 26th. He has been going there for the past 3 years. His first teacher was Susan Locke and he wasn't too fond of going to school at first, but after about 6 months he came around and LOVED it! He has loved it ever since. They had a bus that came and picked him up and dropped him off and he just loved riding the bus. It was a bus that was only for preschoolers, so I was ok with it!:) He then moved up to Denise McClanahan's class. She loved David and always said how big a helper he was in class with everything. He was like the class leader and when he wasn't there the other kids just weren't quite sure what to do. There was a little girl in his class that was in a wheelchair and David always called her his friend and said he really liked her and that she was sweet. He would come home and tell us, when she wasn't at school because she was sick. He was so excited about his big day of singing songs for us. He did a great job with all the songs and was very entertaining. He got a certificate at the end and they told everyone that his favorite color is orange, he wants to be a firefighter, when he grows up and he loves playing dress up at school with his friend Jack. It was so great seeing how much he has grown and how far he has come in the past 3 years. He is very anxious to start kindergarten and asks daily, if it is time for school yet. He is such a great kid and we are lucky to have him!! Congrats David on making it all the way through preschool and good luck with kindergarten!!
