We finally went to Disneyland the first week of June. We went with all the Torgerson’s (minus Robert Sad smile) We had such a great time! We finally made it to Disneyland on Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday we got there around 8:00 in the morning, when it opened. It pretty nice until about 1:00 that afternoon. The heat came and it was really hot.  We rode all the fun rides and the kids had a great time until they were just too worn out to have fun anymore.  We ended up leaving around 4:00 that afternoon.  We were so proud of little David he even rode Splash Mountain. He was terrified and afterwards said he did not ever want to ride that again, but he was so brave!Smile  The kids also enjoyed the Star Wars 3d ride. Little David was the villain and they had his picture on the screen and everything. It was so fun.  We went and met Mickey in his house and got our picture taken with him. We had way to much Cotton Candy and sweets!

We had 6 kids there under the age of 7 and 2 of those were about 2 months old.  Giselle and I spend a lot of time in the mother’s lounge feeding Lincoln and Lizzy.  Thank goodness there were so many adults to help with all of these kids! Parker especially loved Grandpa.  He wanted to be with him all the time.  The older boys (David, Grandpa, Kevin, and Austin) got to go and ride a lot of rides, while us girls hung out with the kids.  It was a little awkward…we made a decision that next time we go to Disneyland we will divide up the time a little better and all of us will have time to ride the rides with no kids around. The kids were a little overwhelmed after the first day and so were the adults,  We were all tired, hot and cranky by the end of that first day.

I didn’t say anything to anyone that night, because I thought I was the only one filling like it was not that great of an experience.  When I asked the kids what their favorite part was, they said it was picking out the souvenirs at the end…well we could have saved some money and just gone to the Disney store! We just tried to hard to get too much done in one day and learned the next day, when we went to California adventure to go later in the afternoon and let the kids be well rested.

Day at the Beach

On Monday, June 3 we left Vegas and headed to Anaheim.  We had a few issues with our van.  We had just put new tires on the Saturday before we left. Then we noticed that we were fish tailing. It was so scary to drive. You just had no control. We couldn’t get it fixed until we got to California, because all the car places were closed on Sunday. So we spent Monday and Tuesday trying to get it fixed. We rented a car on Tuesday, so that we could go to the beach and enjoy all the fun things in California.  David and Maggie absolutely loved the ocean! They had the best time. Poor Parker was not a fan at all. The salt water really hurt his skin, because of his eczema.  It was so sad. But it was fun to see the ocean even if it was very windy and a little chilly. I spent most of the time shielding Lizzy or feeding her. Fun times!

Las Vegas

So we decided last year that we wanted to take the kids to Disneyland. Originally I wanted it to just be our little family of 6 to go. That is until I thought about taking 4 kids to Disneyland including a nursing baby.  We quickly decided we needed extra hands and invited Sherrie to come with us. Then it turned into a full Torgerson trip! It turned out great and we were so glad to have some fun time with everyone.  So on Saturday we drove to Mesquite, Nevada and got a great hotel at a great rate! Then on Sunday we drove to Las Vegas and met the Torgersons there.  David took it upon himself to book the hotel for Vegas for us and his family. He was very proud of himself and kept saying what great reviews it got. So we are driving on the strip and the gps is saying that we are close to it. We are both looking up at all the hotels that are so pretty and big and we were wondering if we were in the wrong area. Then we look down and see a sign that says Motel 8 behind this dinky souvenir store.  It was an interesting stay to say the least.  Let’s just say that David is no longer allowed to book where we stay.  It was the kind of place that you don’t want to lay on the bed because who knows what has happened on them.  The first picture on the top left is the “extra room” that we had with the twin sized bed in it. It was pretty funny! The pool there was nice, but FREEZING! Which is hard to do in Vegas considering it was 114 degrees outside even at 8:00 at night.  We also had to pay $5 to get the key to swim in it. Good times!

So we went and walked down the strip that afternoon and were glad to be in any kind of air conditioning.  We went and ate at The Rainforest CafĂ©.  It was a fun experience and the kids loved it! They were very slow though and we didn’t have the greatest waitress, but oh well! Then we went and watched the water show that night and just walked around looking at all the fun things around there.  David got his picture taken with Transformers and Maggie got hers with Hello Kitty. They were both so excited! It was cute.  Then the next morning we headed to Anaheim to start the next part of our vacation!
