First Day of Kindergarten

P1050483P1050484P1050485

Maggie was so excited to start kindergarten and it was very hard waiting the week and a half after David started for he to go.  She has been waiting for this day for a good year now and couldn’t believe it was finally here.  Her teacher is Mrs. Mccarty and she seems like a sweet teacher.  I walked her to her drop off the first day and watched her walk into class.  She waved bye and walked in acting so big.  Kindergarten only has half days and she got the morning one from 8:45-11:25 which has been so nice. I mean I would love if she was in full day for sure, but of the 2 the morning has been really nice just having 2 kids at home.  She is still loving school and has already learned so much in such a short time.  Thank goodness for school and amazing teachers.  It is great seeing Maggie learn and have so much to look forward to. She really is a sweet little girl! The poor girl has to put up with a lot having Parker as a little brother.  She kind of gets the short end of the stick most of the time, but like we tell her someday Parker will have Lizzy bugging him just like he bugs her. That seems to help her.Smile  So excited to have my little Maggie in kindergarten, but she sure is growing up too fast most days!!

So I am only a couple of months late at posting this…what can I say. That 4th kid really puts a damper on free time!Smile  David was so excited to start school again. He couldn’t wait to get back in.  He was up before 6:30 and dressed before I even thought about getting up.  David has 2 teachers this year.  Mr. Funk and Mrs. Greenawald.  Mrs. Greenawald teaches in the morning for math and reading and Mr. Funk teaches in the afternoon for science and social studies.  He has really been enjoying both of his teachers.  He is sent home each Monday with his homework that is due every Friday and has a spelling test each Friday as well. I love that he can actually do majority of his homework by himself and just needs limited help or guidance through it. He can also read books to Maggie, which is awesome!! He will normally read out loud, while I am cooking dinner and is such an amazing reader.  It has been so nice for him to be in school again!

We were so glad that Gabe and Molly blessed baby Penny down here in Utah. Because of this Pam and Micha brought their girls and Mom and Dad came out from Arkansas to visit! We love having visitors! Maggie was especially excited. Her and Olivia just love each other and have the best time together. In the 7 days that the Baileys were here I think Livy and Maggie got in one little fight.  They really do play so well together.  I forget how old Madison is getting. She was a little too cool for some of the activities we did. When did she get so dang old.  Eliie and Parker played pretty well together and have a lot of similarities. They were pretty cute together.  Mom and Dad celebrated their 41st Wedding anniversary while they were here. We had steaks that Dad brought all the way from Weldon’s in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They were so delicious and it was fun to get to celebrate with them.  They took all the kids downtown on the morning of their anniversary and then we just hung out and had a great time laughing as usual. Mom and Dad stayed until Sunday and then headed out in the morning. It was so fun having them here and actually having a relaxing day or two with them.  Then the next week we had some fun times with the Baileys.  We went and saw Despicable Me 2, went to a splash pad, did some girl’s night out, did some shopping and laughed a lot.  It was so much fun having everyone visit throughout the summer. Maggie and Livy were just so dang cute the whole week. They would stay up just giggling in Maggie’s room until who knows when.  Sadly we won’t get them together again until next summer. Maggie is always saying how great it would be to live close to all her cousins. She always says, “when we move back to Arkansas…” I don’t know where she gets this from.Winking smile  She also says on a monthly bases that she wants to have a sleepover with them. I love how close all of our kids are with each other. I t makes me happy! I always tell Maggie even if we don’t move back to Arkansas, she could always go to college and be roommates with her best cousins. That helps her a little! So fun having family!

Penny’s Blessing

We were so glad to have Gabe and Molly bless baby Penny at our house.  It was crazy how many people we fit in that tiny living room of ours.  I think there were about 40 people in the house.  Gabe gave a really sweet blessing for Penny. Although I didn’t hear any of it, because my sweet son, Parker, screamed bloody murder through the whole thing. I was over in the corner with him and as soon as Gabe started the blessing Parker started screaming.  I was trapped. There was no way for me to get out unless I threw him through the window, which did cross my mind. I had to just hold him down and put my hand over his mouth the whole time. It was so awkward.  I felt so bad, but it did bring back some memories of his blessing.Smile  We had some delicious food afterwards and had a great time visiting with Molly’s family.  It was a special day and we love having little Penny in our family and seeing Gabe and Molly as parents!

4th of July

So what if it is September and I am just now posting about the 4th of July. This summer was seriously insane.  So Gabe and Molly were blessing Penny 4th of July weekend, so Mom, Dad, Pam, Micha and their kids came out west for it.  We had so much fun having everyone out here. So Mom and Dad got here on the 4th.  We had a nice relaxing 4th of July. Ate some yummy food of course and then watched the fireworks from our backyard.  Earlier that day before mom and dad got here we went swimming at Trish’s. It was so nice. Parker finally got in after about 40 minutes.  It was great! We let the kids do sparklers later that night in the front and then they were all too tired I think by the time the actual fireworks started or maybe they were watching a show…I don’t remember! This is why I need to keep up to remember little details like that.

Lizzy 5 Months

P1050500P1050508

P1050517P1050460

She is getting so big, so fast. Lizzy is already 5 months old. She is doing so much and just as cute as ever.  She is sitting like a pro all by herself and will sit all day, if I let her.  She is eating baby food and loves it.  She hates laying down unless she is really tired.  She tries to sit up, when she is laying down.  She has the sweetest little voice and, when she has a chance with her loud older siblings, she loves to talk to us.  She grabs anything and everything and has found a love for faces. She will just stare at me and then gently touch my face, like she is trying to figure me out.  She gives a smile to everyone and loves being in her carrier. She will stare at me and David until we look at her and say something to her or smile and then she will give the biggest smile and then turn her head as fast as she can with her hand in her mouth.  She can roll over, but rarely does. I figure it is because anytime she has a moment on the floor Maggie or Parker will go running to her side and so she rarely has the opportunity to roll over.  For me she is happy to just be sitting by me or laying with me, but for most other people she prefers you to stand with her. She is getting a little clingy to me and if I am not here, she gets very sad. She is a drooling machine. It is rare her shirt is dry.  She is not a huge fan of her swing. For a while there she loved to sleep in it, but now she prefers to be in a bed.  She does not like falling asleep while eating, which is awesome. Usually she will fuss for about 3-5 minutes and just talk about and then fall asleep.  She is not doing the greatest at sleeping at night. She wakes up about 2 times a night, but she has really good nights where she sleeps from about 10:00-6:00, which is awesome!  She takes about 3 naps a day.  She is growing so fast and gets more rolls daily.  Her little cheeks are just so pinchable and she has the cutest shaped face ever.  She has lost most of her hair except for a few long strands here and there. She has new hair growing in that is blonde, just like all the other kids.  She is always doing something with her tongue. Whether sticking it out or just making a weird face with it. It is pretty cute. She has her good days and bad. On her bad days she just wants me to hold her until the evening. She doesn’t have too many bad days though.  We just love our little Lizzy and no one can get enough of her sweet ways.
