Christmas 2015

Christmas time was here again. How did it come again so fast? We had such a great day. It was so much fun decorating our new house and having all the space for all my decorations. I don't know how we were able to fit it all in our last house.  We of course were lucky to have Tom our Elf on the Shelf back this year.  He seemed excited to have more space to hide and pull pranks as well.  It was hard getting ready for Christmas with a 2 month old, but we did it. We had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner. Trish made beef tenderloin and scallions  and we had all the yummy sides to go with it. Giselle, Kevin and Lincoln came over as well.  We each opened a present and read Luke 2 while the kids acted it out.  We also each opened one present and the kids were anxious to go to bed so that Christmas would come sooner. Trish and Gabby spent the night with us and luckily Santa made it to our house  that night and left us some great presents. The kids got an Ipad Mini (which they have been begging for about 6 months for) a trampoline and a ton of fun toys. David and Maggie got new bikes. They were both long over due for new ones and we are all excited to have them actually  David got me a new laptop, which I was in desperate need of and also a new lens for my camera. I got David some house shoes and a candy dispenser for his new Media Room down in the basement. The media room was his big present to himself.  We also got the kids a mini trampoline mostly as a joke, but it has been amazing, since we can't put up the big trampoline outside with all the snow. It is always so much fun to watch the kids open their presents Christmas morning and the pure joy and excitement they have. And the hours they spend completely entertained by all their new stuff those first few days!

Davis is double Digits

Trying out his new snowboard, which turned into a snow ball fight with dad! :)

He picked out a mint cake from the store with dad and got concerned, when Dad almost dropped the cake as you can see.

How is my oldest already a decade old?? He has matured so much in the past year and is such a great kid. He is so helpful and kind. He loves being a big brother and does such a great job at it. He is easy to please too.  He has a huge love for reading and most nights reads from about 8:00-10:00 and that is only because we make him stop reading at 10 to go to bed. One night he was up until 11:30 reading and he apologized and said he just couldn't put it down. He still likes school, but not as much as in years past.  He has made some good friends in our new area and is such a sweet kid.  He is growing up way too fast. We love him so much and are so lucky to have him in our family.

Torgerson Christmas...early

Meme and Papa came out for Pierce's baby blessing and so we thought we would do an early Christmas celebration with them. Meme made delicious alfredo. Then we had David's cousin Mckenzie and his wife Alexis came over for the fun festivities.  We had a white elephant gift exchange, which was so much fun! I walked away with a new window scraper for all this snow we have been having.  Then we opened presents from Meme and Papa. They spoiled us as usual. They got me a new griddle and some serving ware. I was so excited!! I needed those badly. They got David a popcorn maker and a "fireplace" heater for downstairs. They have both been used a ton already. :) The kids got legos and way too many other fun toys. We also gave them their presents while they were here. I really do love buying presents for those I love and getting to see their reactions. That is one of the bad things about being away for Christmas from our families is not getting to see them actually open their gifts, so this was nice. We love having visits from family and are looking forward to January for Maggie's baptism, when we will get some house guests again.

So much snow

We have had a ton of snow so far this winter. We have been a little spoiled these past few years with snow in the mountains and rain in the valley. I don't think we will be so lucky this year. The kids have absolutely loved it though! There is a hill just down the street from us where all the neighborhood kids go to sled down. It is a lot of fun and they all have a blast! We also have a nice hill in our backyard for them to go sledding down.We love the snow, but i hope to see our grass sometime and the very near future!!

P.J. 2 Months

A few weeks late for posting this, but better late than never!! :)  Pierce or P.J. as we call him is such a sweet baby. By 2 months he is finally giving his smiles away a little easier. He loves to stick his tongue out and smile at us. He takes a bottle pretty well from Daddy and any one except Mommy.  He likes having his alone time. He does not like the swing that much. He will tolerate it for about 30 minutes, but that is usually all I get. He hated riding in the car up until he was about 7 weeks old. He loves to take a good morning nap and is content until about 10:30 every morning, which is when I try to get my shopping done or any jobs I need to do for the day. He loves to snuggle especially with Mommy. He loves for Daddy to hold him, while playing video games and loud music. He loves noise and if it is too quiet, he gets fussy.  We have a noise maker that does wonders for my sanity. He is a pretty good baby. Not easy, but not too hard. It is going by way to fast for sure. The kids still just love him and are always eager to hold him and help with him. We are so glad to have his sweet spirit with our family!
