Camp out at Meme's! Maggie and David have been begging for a campout with Meme and Papa for about 9 months now, so Grandpa spent about an hour setting it all up. The kids were so excited and had a blast...for seriously about 30 minutes and then informed us they were done and it was too scary.
We had a great time in Arkansas, as usual! It was great introducing Parker to everyone. He loved it and was an amazing little traveler. Sherrie drove out to Arkansas with me and we left Monday, June 13 at 6:00 a.m. We made it to Arkansas by 7:00 p.m. the next night. We stopped and stayed the night in Lincoln, Nebraska and were on the road by 9:00 the next morning. It was a pretty entertaining car ride. The most memorable part was when little David said he needed to go potty and of course it was the one time, where we were passing through a small town, but he really had to go. We got desperate and pulled over because we saw an abandoned warehouse thing and since he is a boy we thought he would be ok going outside...boy were we wrong. So Sherrie got David out of the car and told him that he was going to go pee outside, just like when we go camping. David was not convinced. So Sherrie then informed him that Uncle Austin sometimes goes potty outside and David's response was, "Well I don't!" I was just laughing too hard at this point. Then Sherrie told David it would be ok and there was no other option. So she took him over by the bush and that is when he informed her that he had to go number 2...He then said that he wanted to wait until we found a real bathroom. So we got back in the car and drove down the street a little ways and found a "gas station" I use this term very loosely. I had 2 pumps that were from about 1980 and didn't accept credit cards. So Sherrie took David in and as usual about a minute later Maggie said she too had to go potty. So I grabbed Parker and Maggie and took them both inside. We got inside and it reaked of smoke. So I asked the lady behind the counter, where the bathroom was and she pointed and slurred with a cigarette in her mouth, "It's right there, but I think there is someone in it." So I gave Maggie to Sherrie, so that I could go and feed Parker. They came out a little while later and we were just laughing so hard because of the weirdness of it all. Sherrie then told me that the bathroom had a slit in the wall that was right where the toilet was and she could see the lady that worked there. Good times! We stayed in Dardanelle the first night and then by Wednesday morning after many texts and calls telling me the cousins were ready for visitors, we headed down to Little Rock. We stayed there for a couple of days and then headed down to Hot Springs. We had a lot of great family get togethers at Mom and Dad's. All the cousins had a blast playing in the pool, doing bubbles, playing play-doh, doing the marble things, and just hanging out! We also had so much fun seeing extended family too! Time always goes by so fast, when we are out there. Parker just was the happiest little baby out there too. I felt like he was excited to finally meet the rest of his family!:) David flew out on Wednesday night and got in at about 12:30 a.m. Then he had one day to fit in seeing everyone. It was a busy day. Then we spent the last night at the Torgerson's and left the next morning a little before 9:00 a.m. We decide to drive straight through and were very glad we did! The kids slept from about 9:00 p.m. until about 5:00 I think! We made it to our home sweet home by about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. It was a great visit and I was so glad David convinced me to go! What a great husband!:)
