I was a chaperon for David’s field Trip to Thanksgiving Pointe.

Terra Linda had an award each month called Principal’s Pride and Maggie got an award for her Peter Rabbit paper.

David has such a deep love for reading and most days, when the weather is nice, I will find him outside reading a good book. Elizabeth couldn’t get enough of the water table!

On one of the warm spring days I let the kids play in the sprinkler on the trampoline. It was one they they sure miss from the old house. Our new house has enough space for us to try out our new tent in the living room. Smile

Maggie had her end of year 1st grade program and she did such an amazing job at singing all the songs they had practiced for it. Then our Mountain Shadows ward had a Daddy/Daughter dance one weekend that David took Maggie to. She could not have been happier to get all dressed up and have such a special night with her daddy!

Another school year just flew by and somehow we made it to the end of the year and had the award ceremony where both David and Maggie got awards that day. Maggie got the Citizenship Award. Her teacher just could not say enough good things about her and loved how Maggie was always willing to help others and includes everyone around her.  David had a challenge to read at least 20 chapter books by the end of the school year and depending on how many he read, he would get a reward.  He read at least 60 books including the whole Harry Potter series and he started Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This was the easiest award he could ever get, considering most nights we have to tell David at 10:30 to put the book away and go to bed!!! David and Maggie both had such amazing teachers this year. Maggie had Miss Lansford and David had Miss Sten. They really had a love for teaching and we were so glad our kids had them for teachers and could have such a fun time learning in school.  We will definitely miss Terra Linda Elementary.

Parker turns 4

So for part of Parker’s birthday we were in Moab with Meme and Papa. Then we got back home and Parker and I went to the store to pick out his cake and a couple of other small gifts for him. We also went to lunch just the two of us. He was so cute the whole time. We got him an electric scooter. He was excited about it and caught on so quick.  It was another low key birthday for him because of the move and the showings, but I think he had a great day!

Parker is such a joy. He almost always has a smile on his face and is very hard to say no to. He is definitely our most adventurous kid and has very few fears. He loves to take risks and is very athletic and sporty.  He is very independent and loves to help others.  His speech is getting better by the day and he has come such a long way in the past year. He loves going to preschool and riding the bus. He adores his big brother David and wants to constantly be by his side.  He loves electronics. He loves books. He loves playing with friends and as the third child he is so used to having someone around and gets lonely quick.  He has such a fun personality and a very good sense of humor, especially for his age.  He loves saying prayers and helping read during scripture time.  It is hard to not be happy, when Parker is around and gives you a big smile. He is very photogenic and always hams it up for the camera.  He is a great kid and we love having him in our family.

Hanging out at the hotel and Grandpa had to make a temporary wheel chair to get around!

The kids were more than happy to help push Grandpa around in his “wheelchair” and loved watching silly animal and baby videos with him on his laptop.

Meme and Papa have always wanted to go bike riding in Moab and so this past April, while they were out here, they finally did it.  They went with David’s Uncle Curtis and Aunt Jerryne. Things were going great until Papa Dave hit some loose gravel on the trail and somehow his foot got stuck in the spokes and he broke his ankle! We got a call from Sherrie telling us what happened and that he would have to have surgery on his ankle.  David was in California at the time, but I felt so bad that Sherrie would have to be there handling all this by herself, so I packed up the kids and we made a last minute trip to Moab. I called up Giselle and invited her to come along too and so there we went! Sherrie’s birthday was on that Friday, so we wanted to help her celebrate that as well. It’s just a few hours away, so nothing too bad.  Dave was still in the hospital, when we got there. So we went to visit him with 5 of his grandkids.  They were a little worried about Grandpa at first, but he made sure to show them some fun things to play with in the hospital room and they all were very entertained. He was released from the hospital on Friday, April 10th, Sherrie’s birthday.  Giselle and I were planning on heading back home on Friday, but they kept insisting we stay another night. We couldn’t say no to the drugged up Grandpa Dave! He was pretty entertaining with all that medicine. He really needed to rest though and the kids were getting restless, so we decided to take advantage of our trip and go on a hike.  The kids absolutely loved it! We picked a somewhat easy path, since we had 2, 2 year olds, with us. It was the neatest thing though to see the arches. Poor Giselle had her hands full with Lincoln. He would have just kept running if she didn’t keep up with him and make him stop, which is why he isn’t in any of the pictures. There was no way to stop that boy for a picture!! So we went back to the hotel after our adventure and had some dinner and had Meme open presents.  The next day was Parker’s birthday. We had breakfast and then packed up to head back home to celebrate the rest of Parker’s 4th birthday with Dad! Luckily Sherrie and Dave made it back to Arkansas and after some more surgeries and a few months of a cast and resting he is now almost back to as good as new and is healing very nicely. We are all glad for him to have his leg back and be back to chasing the kids all over the place! It was pretty sweet though, after he hurt his ankle, every time we had family prayer the kids would always mention Grandpa’s ankle and prayed that it would heal quickly. So sweet.

The kids love our trampoline. They usually went to eat meals on it, when possible.

We loved having Meme and Papa here for Family Home Evening and eating out with them. Especially since Elizabeth was in her fancy dress and leggings phase!

We went to The Living Planet Aquarium while the Torgersons were here. It is such a neat place and the kids love it!

We had a lot of times we needed to be out of the house for showings and so one time we decided to go on a little hike.

Easter was on General Conference weekend this year and we were lucky not to have any showings of our house that day! All the kids had a great time hunting for those eggs. Lincoln was also there, but he wasn’t one for pictures that day.  So lucky to have family to celebrate these holidays with.
