Surprise...

So on July 25 I took a pregnancy test and to my shock discovered that I was pregnant.  2 pregnancy tests later and I started to actually believe that it was not a false positive.  I was shocked and I called to David from the bathroom (more liked screamed with panic in my voice) David came into the bathroom and I showed him the little plus sign on the pregnancy test and then said, "Look what you did to me!!" He was so excited. I was shocked to say the least. I was not quite ready for another little bundle of joy. I still feel like Parker is a baby and was not ready to tackle all nighters, diapers, feeding 24/7 and all that comes with a baby.  This was not going to happen in my book for a little while longer, but I guess God has a different plan for us.  I am excited now although I still have not been the one to tell people. I didn't even tell my family until they were here for Gabe's wedding.  Then David decided to announce it at church in  Elders Quorum with all the men of the church. I hadn't even told my friends at church yet.  I think I have only actually told a handful of people just because the thought of pregnancy makes me sick. I have been sick since about 5 weeks. If I eat and stay on top of eating I am okay, but if I decide to not listen to my body I will pay big for it and sometimes I pay big no matter what I do! I had my first doctor's appointment last Friday and was excited to hear the heart beat and see the little bean in the ultra sound. So we went to the office and signed in. Then the nurse comes and tells me that my doctor had to go in for a delivery and since this was my first time seeing him that I would have to come back in next week.  :( Sad. sad they did all the blood work and all that fun stuff on me on Friday and then Monday we went back in and met the doctor and had the ultrasound.  I always love seeing a little baby that is inside me making me so miserable. :) It makes it more bearable knowing for sure there is something growing in me.  Everything is looking good for baby and me.  I am due on April 3rd, which means that Parker and this baby will be less then 2 years apart. Fun times!! Maggie and David are very excited and are already calling "her" Elizabeth.  David's reasoning is that is how the pattern is boy, girl, boy, girl.  Maggie just wants a little sister ever since Parker came out a boy instead of girl like the doctor told us.  Funny story, a couple of days before we were telling the kids that we were having a baby, Maggie came up to me and said, "Mom, your tummy is getting big. Is there a baby in there?" I have felt fat ever since.  I don't know if I have gotten that fat or if it was maybe just a little angel telling Maggie there would be another baby! I like to think it is the second one to make myself feel better!:) So here we are are expecting our 4th little bundle of joy March or April of next year.  Now that I am over the shock of it all I am very excited to think about about another little baby to cuddle and maybe a sister for Maggie!

Dinosaur Museum

For the month of August the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point was doing a deal where it was only $2.00 per person to get in, which is an amazing deal. It usually cost $10 for adults and $8 for kids, which is pretty expensive. So one Tuesday night we made our way there and the kids loved it. Parker was going crazy there and was just in awe the whole time.  It was pretty cute. It really is a neat museum to go to with the family.  Well worth it, when it is only $8.00 especially!

The Bride and Groom!

Molly and Gabe got sealed in the Mount Timpanogas temple on August 10, 2012.  It was a great day! The sealing was amazing.  One of the neatest things was when we were all in the sealing room waiting for Gabe and Molly to come and then all of a sudden these 2 Elders walk into the room. We look over at Molly's family and they all just gasp and then start balling.  Molly's little brother who is in the MTC walked into the room! Molly's Mom and Dad were the only one's who knew he was coming.  Then Molly and Gabe walked into the room and Gabe saw her brother first and nudged Molly.  Molly looked over and saw him and then just put her face in her hands and started crying. The sealer was a little worried, when he saw the bride crying so hard and asked if everything was alright.  Then he asked if the missionaries had permission to be there! We were all teary eyed. It was a neat experience.  The rest of the sealing was really special as well. Then we went out to wait for the newly weds and had some time to get some sister pictures!:)  After that we had some time to kill so we headed over Trish's for some more food.  Some of our old friends from Arkansas who are now in Idaho and Washington came down for the wedding. They came over to Trish's as well.  Then we headed over to the church for the reception. It was so pretty! Molly's family did a great job. It was also catered by Costa Vida and the food was delicious.  They had a chocolate fountain, which I especially loved! The kids all spent most of the night there or on the dance floor with Mom! Parker on the other hand could be found cleaning everyone's plates. He loves food!:)  Then it was time for the happy couple to say goodbye. Some friends of Gabe's had decorated their car and did a great job with it! There were balloons in every square inch of the car and streamers and other surprises.  They also brought sparklers for the kids to hold as Molly and Gabe ran through them! It was a great day and we are so excited for our newest sister-in-law! They are perfect for each other!

Aren't they cute?!
August was such a fun month.  Mostly because of the wedding of Gabe and Molly.  They got married in the Mount Timpanogas Temple here in Utah, which meant all the family came out here for the big day! I was glad I didn't have to tote my kids around anywhere far this year. We needed a break from long trips! So on Wednesday, August 8 at various times of the day all of the DeVaux's came in from Arkansas.  Mom and Dad drove out and brought Pam and Ellie  with them.  Oscar, Tara, Ada Belle and Oscar drove out as well, but stopped off in Pagosa Springs, Colorado for a night in my Grandma's cabin.  Marji got in at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.  I think Pam had the most exciting trip with my mom and dad and their stay in a "motel."  I wish I had the pictures of the place my Dad made them stay over at.  It did not look good and Dad was very proud of the fact that it cost only $39 a night, if that gives you any hints as to how bad it was! Good times!  I spent Wednesday doing last minute shopping baking the cupcakes and getting the briskets all marinated. While also preparing myself mentally for all 15 people that would be in our house. It's moments like that, when my house feels so small and one or two more bedrooms wouldn't hurt!:)  Thursday we spent decorating cupcakes, making 1 or 2 dips for appetizers, finishing the barbeque brisket and getting everything else in order.  We still had some time to do a little sister shopping too! We had a great time meeting all of Molly's family.  She has a huge family and they are a lot of fun. After eating and talking for a little bit we all headed home.  Us sisters got Gabe a few little gifts for his last night as a single guy. He is so lucky to have us. :) Then we were all in bed pretty early after the long day of cooking and shopping we had.  It was a great way to send off Gabe and Molly into married life!

Personal Progress Night

I have been in the Young Women presidency for almost 2 years.  I was secretary for the first year and now I am 2nd counselor.  I absolutely love my calling. I think it has a lot to do with the leaders I get to work with. We usually have way too much fun for this to be a church calling.  The girls are amazing and a ton of fun to be with too!:)  So we have not been pushing Personal Progress like we knew we should for the past couple of years, but we wanted to change that. So this last month we had a special Wednesday night activity that turned out really great I think! We were expecting our numbers to be pretty low, but to our amazement we had one of our best turnouts! We invited all the Young Women and their moms to a mystery dinner.  They came in and had menus on the tables for them to fill out.  They could only chose 4 things from the menu, but everything was in code.  The menu said stuff like: A Mouth Watering Mustard Seed of Faith, The Delicious Divine Nature Delicacy, Pickled Individual Worth, Savory Knowledge and so forth. So they all choose 4 items and then (our Bishopric was kind enough to be our waiters for the night) the waiters brought out what they actually ordered. The girls could get any four of the following, a fork, napkin, salad, plate, roll, dressing, spoon,  and dessert.  They were all very sad, when they saw what they would be eating for dinner.  Then Alice-Anne did a great talk about how Personal Progress is kind of like this dinner tonight.  If you do not have all these values in your life, you have something important missing from your life.  After that we served them their real dinner, lasagna.  It was a really fun night. We have given the girls some incentives to help them get motivated and are trying harder to focus more on these values in our activities.  Live and learn!:)

Late NIght Bowling

Last month our Bishopric in our ward got released after 5 years of service. We were very sad to see them be released. They were so good with the youth and the kids really loved spending time with them.  So Bishop Gerber wanted to do one last all nighter with all the youth.  So on Monday night at 10:00 p.m. we all met at the church and headed to the bowling alley.  We have never had such a great turn out from the youth. We were debating about whether to move Wednesday mutual to 10:00 instead of 7:00, so we could get a better number!:)  We all had a great time bowling and trying to keep up with the Bishop and his counselors. They were pretty good bowlers.  I was not able to bowl that night because my back was out.  I had fun watching and talking to everyone though.  Then after bowling we headed over to Denny's for a "snack."  After that we thought we were done until Bishop said we should go and play some Dutchball at the church.  We Young Women leaders were already having trouble keeping our eyes open, but we did it anyways.  So we went back to the church and were waiting for them to bring the ball to start playing.  I was sitting on the stage minding my own business, when all of a sudden I got slammed in the face with a deflatted, yet very powerful ball. My neck went to the other side and I knew the next day was going to be fun. :)  By 3:30 a.m. I finally decided I had enough and luckily we all went home for a few hours of sleep.  It was a really fun night and helped me realize how old I am getting. :(
