Maggie Starts Dance!!

After many weeks of waiting, Maggie finally got to start dance!!! She was so excited and kept asking all day long if it was time to go yet.  We finally went and it was so dang cute!  The parents get to watch for the first class and then once every 3 months.  So Parker and I got to stay and watch our little princess.  There are about 8 girls in her class.  They do tap for the first 30 minutes and then ballet and some tumbling for 30 minutes.  They started practicing for the Christmas recital.  It is going to be soooo cute.  Maggie is amazing.  She remembered most of the dance and even the words they have to sing after the first practice.  She caught on really quick to everything that they taught her.  I loved watching her and just couldn't stop smiling.  For ballet they each got to put on a tiara and a scarf and have some fun with those.  I am so glad to have her in dance and just lobe seeing how cute she looks! I just can't wait until the recital!

5 Months Old!!

Parker Scott is 5 months old!! Look how cute and handsome he is!  And did I mention chunky?!:)  There are roles upon roles on him.  His new smile is when he sucks in his lips and gives a huge smile that lights up his whole face.  He loves to smile and loves to help people have a better day by smiling at them.  He has to be held a good majority of the day or entertained in some way.  He has to have something in his mouth pretty much 24/7, which can be fun sometimes.  He loves to have his fingers in his mouth as well.  He is a huge fan of his exersaucer and has gotten really good at grabbing the toys he wants.  He can roll from his stomach to back with no problem and can role from back to tummy, when he is in the right mood!:)  He is getting pretty good at sitting.  Still falls forward after a few minutes of sitting, but all in all he is on the road to sitting by himself!! He loves to eat still and usually (when I don't forget...) has 3 meals a day that isn't milk.  He loves looking at his play aquarium and listening to the music.  He will sleep in his bed for about 3 hours at a time right now.  I don't know what it is about my boys and their sleeping.  All I know is it won't last forever and I can handle it for a little longer, I think.  His hair is slowly falling out, but I think his new hair is coming in about as fast as his hair is falling out.  He loves to be outside and go on walks in the stroller.  He has also found a love for grabbing anything and everything in reaching distance of him.  He then tries to get it into his mouth as fast as possible.  This includes hair, shirts, plates, toys, and anything else you can think of!  He loves to hang out in Maggie's room and watch Baby Einstiens, but only if Maggie is in there. He has a huge love for Maggie and David and just thinks they are amazing!
Parker is up to 17 pounds and just keeps growing! We are so glad that Parker is in our family and love watching him grow!

David Starts Kindergarten

The sun was in his eyes and he was very irritated by it!

He was soooo excited to finally be at school!

After 2 months of waiting, David finally got to go to kindergarten! He was so excited! We got to the school and he just went running to the playground and started playing without  a second thought.  Not  even a goodbye to me.  So I called him back over and made him give me a hug goodbye.:)  Then we watched him walk into his class.  I got a little teary eyed watching him walk away, BUT the peaceful time at home helped!:)
We went and picked him up and asked him how his day was and he replied, "Well, we didn't really do anything and we ran out of time, so we didn't get to play outside."  He seemed a little disappointed that he didn't get to do more stuff, but he was still pretty excited about it!  David is such an amazing kid.  I love how brave he is and how he has never met a stranger.  He has so much confidence and knows so much! I'm so proud of you David and your new adventure into kindergarten!

Great Grandma Turnbull's Birthday

Giselle, Grandpa, Curtis and Mom in front of the house that Grandpa Turnbull grew up in.
Giselle, Meme, Great Grandma Ion, me, Maggie, Parker and David

David and Maggie loved playing with this dog. She was so cute. She would catch the golf ball, bring it right back to you and drop the ball right by you. She was cute!

David asked for a quarter for a gumball the morning of Grandma Ion's birthday party. We gave him a quarter and then came back and told us it was a present for Great-Great Grandma. He kept it the whole day and then was VERY excited to give it to her for her present! It was sooo cute!:)

Well after being married to David for 7 years and living in Utah for almost 4 years, I finally made it up to Wyoming to meet David's Great-Grandma.  She turned 94 this year.  She lives in Lusk, Wyoming, which is about 8 hours away.  Sherrie, Giselle, David, Maggie, Parker and I loaded up the car and headed up to surprise Grandma Ion for her birthday.  I was so excited to see all the places with so much history for the Turnbull family.  We stayed in the house that Grandpa Turnbull grew up in, while we were there.  It was fun to stay there, except for one small thing...there was no air conditioning and it was HOT!  When we got up to Lusk, it was in the 90s and in the house it was about 95.  We were having some second (and 3rd and 4th) thoughts about staying there, but we decided to stick it out for that first night and see how it went.  We searched the house and found all the fans in it.  We also decided to have a big sleepover in the living room, so that we could take full advantage of the fans.  So we brought all the mattresses into the living room and gave it a try.  The kids were very worried at first, but luckily Meme had her Ipad with Angry Birds on it which helped a ton!:)  After we got all the fans going we went to find some dinner, which wasn't very hard to do.  The town only had 3 restaurants, which were Subway, a pizza place and one more sit down restaurant that we ate every meal at.  It was very yummy home-cooked feel food and huge amounts of it.  We sat at the same table every time, so we really felt like regulars there!:)  Then that night we went to the families old ranch.  I feel so bad for not getting any pictures, but we were only there for a few minutes and it was getting dark.  We also couldn't find the key to get inside, but it was still really neat to see everything.  The drive down the huge driveway was quite the adventure.  It was a dirt road of course, but the bad part was that the middle of it was overgrown with very hard and brittle grass that was scraping the car the whole way.  But we made it and no harm was done!  We also got to go to the cemetery where so many family members were buried.  I got to see where the Linds were buried, which is where David got his middle name from.  We then got to surprise Grandma Ion at her party.  She didn't know who we were until she saw Grandpa Turnbull (we had never met her before!), David gave her the gumball and she was very excited about it. Then we had some cake and visited with her for a little bit.  After that we took the kids to a park that was just next to the home where Grandma lives. On a side note the place where Grandma Ion is staying used to be the town hospital and it was where Sherrie and her brother Curtis was born.  They still had the viewing window up, where the new dads could look at there new baby!  It was really neat to see where Sherrie was born.  Then we took Grandma out to dinner at her favorite restaurant and got to visit some more with her.  It was a very fast trip, but it was great!
Just some funny things that made Sherrie, Giselle and I laugh quite a bit but probably won't be nearly as funny to anyone else :)...Grandpa and Curtis stayed downstairs in the house and on Sunday night, Grandpa said that he might like a fan to take with him to bed that night.  The 3 of us just looked at each other and Sherrie's face was hilarious.  We told him he could have the small little dinky one!:)  We only had 5 and couldn't spare more than that!  Another thing there was no shower upstairs.  It had one of those hand held shower things, so that made taking a "shower" interesting.  When we went to eat for Grandma's birthday dinner, everyone ordered a salad to go with their dinners and everyone got one except Giselle and couldn't get the waiters attention to get hers until we were all done with all of ours.  Then Giselle had ordered fried chicken fingers and corn.  They brought her fried chicken wings and peas.  Then Maggie was staring at Giselle's peas until Giselle handed them over to her.  So Giselle didn't really eat much that day.  Sherrie loved showing Parker the toy "bee" which is actually a butterfly and would fly it in front of his face. (We think we figured out where big David might have gotten his fear of bees from!)Then we went to dedicate the graves the morning we were leaving. It was pretty cold that morning and Maggie was wearing a dress.  After we got done and back in the car, we commented on how we hope the kids don't get sick from being in the cold for so long.  Something about pneumonia...and then Sherrie said, "Oh, she'd get over it!" Giselle and I just started cracking up! Oh good times!:)
Thanks Sherrie and Giselle for a great weekend full of laughs and for all the help with the kids! It is great to have 2 extra pairs of hands! Thanks Sherrie for everything you did for us and to you and Grandpa for sharing all the memories!:)
