All Parker wanted was an egg for each hand! He was so proud of himself!! |
We had a great Easter this year! It was pretty low key, but filled with lots of
food and lots of fun! We had Gabby stay the night, because they were going to
church with us and Trish was hanging out with a friend Saturday night. The good
news is that the kids went to bed at about 8:00 because they were so excited
about the Easter bunny coming. The bad news is that Gabby was up by 6:30 this
morning…and wanted the other kids to be up too. This was the one morning that
Parker of course slept in, since I was up early doing things and we were all
wanting him to wake up! That’s always how it goes. We got the kids dressed and
then Parker finally woke up and we went into the living room and found what the
Easter Bunny left for them! Then we finished getting ready for church. Church
was great as usual! Especially since we had Trish to help with Parker. She also
took him for us, while David went to Elders Quorum and I went to Young Women
without a child attached to me. We had a great lesson in Young Women. Our
secretary, Deserae gave the lesson and talked about the true meaning of Easter
and the symbolism that we can remember each year to remember the sacrifice that
Jesus made for us and why Easter is such a special day. After church David had
to go collect fast offerings, so we had to hold off the kids from finding the
eggs the Easter Bunny left outside. After waiting until 1:00, we just couldn’t
hold the kids back any longer. So we let them loose outside! This was the first
year that no one had a melt down and no one shed one tear. It was great! Parker
went straight to his favorite place and climbed right up the little pirate ship
and found his eggs that were hiding there. The other kids just had a ton of fun
finding all the eggs. It was fun this year, since the kids were older and they
got some more challenging hiding places for eggs. After that we went in for a
yummy lunch of Grilled pork tenderloin, baked potatoes, homemade bread, homemade
macaroni and cheese and corn on the cob! Oh how we love the food! :) Then we
had nap time for the adults. Trish and Gabby headed home after that and then we
took a nice walk and enjoyed this beautiful spring weather. It was a great end
to a great day!
