New Table

This is the table with the leaves extended

After 8 years of marriage and 3 used tables, we have finally gotten a brand new table for our dining room!!! I love it so much!!! It has the leaves that store in the table that you can just pull out from the end of the table!! I love the bench too. It is perfect for the kids.  I am so excited to use it this weekend for all of our guests!

Brother and Sister

Last week I heard some talking in David's room after him and Maggie were both supposed to be asleep and i found them laying in David's bed they were just talking and laughing together. It  was so cute. They said they wanted to sleep together, so a little while later this is what we found.  So sweet.  I love how good of friends they have become.  So the next day they said they wanted to share a room again and make bunk beds....so another change to our house.  Maggie and David are now sharing a room and Parker is in the process of moving upstairs into Maggie's old room (which I painted this weekend). I know what you are all thinking...I wish the Torgersons would change things up sometimes!!:) We aim to please!

Laundry Room Makeover

Here is David's old office with the laundry room back behind it.

The washer and drier are right behind the wall there.

And down goes the wall

The mess of everything that was in the laundry room that had to be moved...a little clutter is so fun. :(

The new shelves

Tada!!!

This triangle over on the left was a huge project.  David is so good at all this stuff! There was wood going all the way down to the floor, which made the space unusable. Not anymore!

This is where all of David's servers and computer stuff is stored

This is the "hallway" in the storage/ laundry room. To the right is where David's computer and server space is at.

This was a HUGE project we took on...and by we I mean David mostly!:) I have a hard time helping much with Parker around.  We have had this space for 3 years that David has been using for his office, but it was not the best office. One, it didn't have heating or air and two, it doesn't have any insulation.  So we were doing some changing around and David decided that we could move his office out of there and make it a food storage room.  We decided to take down the wall, because it was just a waste of space and made the room harder to use.  So down came the wall.  Then David added some walls and a door to where all of his servers are at, so that they will be safe from dust and stuff.  The easiest part of the whole project was actually the shelves for the food storage.  Taking down the wall was a pill, because the washer and dryer were hooked up to the wall, so David have to do some electrical work with it.  We started on this last Friday and after 7 long days of David working from the time he got home from work, until about 9:00 at night, he finally finished.  Oh, so much work, but we are so excited to have it done and have a place to get our food storage started!  Eventually we want to finish up the room and add all the insulation and drywall to it.  Oh the never ending process of being a home owner.

11 Months

11 months old already!! How fast this year has gone.  Parker has changed so much.  He is walking like 70% of the time.  He is still a little wobbly, but is getting really good at turning and standing from sitting like a pro!  He babbles all the time and I swear he says Biscuit and David.  He says, "Bibu" and "Dabi."  (Maggie is very offended that he doesn't say Maggie or Mommy!)  He loves being outside and going on walks.  He still loves to eat anything and everything! He is sleeping through the night. He got his first top tooth finally after weeks of just being miserable and just wanting to lay around with Mommy or Daddy.  He wants to pull everything down and throw it across the room.  He has started drinking whole milk and loves it!  Whenever we put him in his bed to go to sleep, he looks around for his light up sea horse and throws himself on it to turn it on and just lays on it until he falls asleep.  It is very funny to watch.  He is still a big ham at church. He is just all smiles and laughs. Everyone always comments on how cute and happy he is and follows that with asking if he is always this happy....we just laugh and say he likes to put on a show!:)  He loves music.  During church as soon as he hears the piano start and sees the chorister get up, he gets so excited. Most of the time he will stand up, stare at the chorister and then start throwing his hands in the air and shouting, "ya, ya, yaaaa" as loud as he can.  It is hilarious. I wish we could record this, but I guess it would be a little inappropriate. :)  He still loves to bug Biscuit by taking his toy and trying to run away with it or by just going after Biscuit's fur.  I still have Parker in his carrier and he is the first kid that I am not in any rush to get him out of it. It is great at stores still for a quick in and out without him getting mad.  He is just a very entertaining baby boy and most days these days he is very happy and fun to be around.  I can't wait to celebrate next month with all our family for his first birthday next month!!:)

More Painting

So we have painted the last bedroom of the house!!! I know everyone is excited as I am about this!:)  So we painted little David's room yesterday and then we had quite a bit of paint left and I decided to paint the bathroom the same color, since it is connected to David's room.  I love the color and love the way it turned out.  Now we just have to find a color for the kitchen and living room and then we will really be done! Our new project is working on the extra room downstairs and turning it into a food storage room!! We are excited!

Spring Weather

Parker waving to Maggie and David! I swear he tries to say David's name. He would see David and just start saying, "Daa, Daa!"

It has been such a nice winter here in Utah this year. Apparently Utah is getting about 50% the amount of snow that we usually get...and I am not complaining! I love the 50 and 60 degree weather. So we took advantage of it yesterday. We went to the park and the kids had a great time.  Parker didn't know what to think about the ground there and just sat still pretty much the whole time. Every time he would try to walk or crawl he would look at the ground and then look at his hand with a disgusted look. It was pretty funny! But he loved watching all the kids play and yelling at them as they did.  David made a friend while we were there of course.  It was great until the other kid started hitting David with a stick and saying he was just kidding after hitting David. David is such a great sport about it all. He would just laugh and say, "um please don't hit me I don't like that." The other kid really didn't get the hint...oh how I love it when the other mom sees her son hitting David and just lets it go on...oh well.  Later that day we went on a walk around the neighborhood and took Biscuit with us. He loves going on walks.  It is nice because David rides his bike and that just leaves Maggie and Parker to push (Maggie can ride a bike, but not well enough to keep up with us. Still needs some practice with that around the house.  Just stick around beautiful weather, please!!

New Rooms

The new guest room

Maggie's new yellow room

David made this magnet board for Maggie for all of her art work! It turned out so cute and perfect for our little artist!

David's new room (and Parker's...some day!)
So we thought for a few days that we were going to have a house guest for a few weeks, so we did some rearranging and painting and a lot of work! We switched David’s room and the guest room. Our goal is to eventually move Parker into David’s room and there was no way that Parker’s bed could fit in David’s old room. So Saturday around 2:00 (after I had completely cleaned the guest room…) David came to me with the idea to switch the rooms around. So an hour later we had gone to pick out some new paint. David’s room was orange and didn’t seem too relaxing for our guests!:) So then we have been telling Maggie that we could paint her room, but have been putting it off. So we painted her room too. We also needed something to display all of Maggie’s artwork. David thought of a great idea! This has metal behind it and that way she can use magnets to hang up her art! She got to pick out the fabric with Daddy…Cute huh?! It all turned out really nice. So this should be could for another few months until we feel the need to switch things up!:)
