Christmas morning was a ton of fun as usual! The night leading up to it was not so much fun for me and little Parker.  I think he slept for maybe 2-3 hours.  It was awful, but well worth it to be with family.  Parker and I headed downstairs, where Gabe was sleeping around 6:30 in the morning and Parker started crawling around and trying to get into everyone’s stuff.  Gabe and I watched “A Christmas Story” while waiting for the rest of the family to come down.  At about 7:00 the rest of the family headed down to get started with the festivities.  The kids were all so cute and excited about everything they got.  It was a great Christmas and we are so glad to have some of our family out here to help celebrate this special season.  One of the most creative presents was the one that Daddy made for David.  He made him a tent.  He got pvc pipe and a sheet and sewed it all by himself.  It turned out great! Maggie’s favorites were here scooter and her kitty (stuffed) that she named, Petit (pronounced Pet it)…she is hilarious.  She is so proud of her name for her kitty.  Parker loved all of his toys! He is not too picky yet.  David got an Xbox 360 and all the accessories to go with it.  I got a new sewing and embroidering machine!! We also got a deep fryer from Trish!! I am so glad to get back to deep frying again!:)  We got so many great presents from all of our family and are so grateful to have such giving families! Another Christmas gone and another year to wait to celebrate once again!

Christmas was a lot of fun this year! Gabby really wanted to host Christmas at her house this year, so we packed up the van and headed to Pleasant Grove to stay the night Christmas Eve.  We had AMAZING food and a lot of laughing.  Trish did a great job with the cooking as usual.  We packed up everything on Saturday afternoon and headed to Orem first to visit with the Turnbull’s for a little bit.  Then we went to Trish’s and started eating…a lot.  Trish’s old college roommate, Lynn, and her family came over to celebrate with us.  Giselle was also able to come with us. We read Luke 2 and had all the kids help act it out.  Then we opened a present and then we let the kids play with their toys for a little bit and then sent the kids to bed and started getting things ready for the next day.

Pictures of the kids!

We had a really pretty day of weather last week and I thought it was a perfect day to take a few shots of the kids.  Well I was just going to take some of Parker, but Maggie and David both wanted to be in them with Parker! That was a first, so I jumped at the opportunity!  Clearly not the best ever, but they are cute kids, so it doesn't take much to make a cute picture! I love Parker's huge smile in the first 2!

Maggie started taking dance back in September at a dance studio here in West Jordan. She has loved it! It is just perfect for her. She looks forward to it every Tuesday afternoon. She goes for one hour each week and does tap, ballet and tumbling. It has been fun watching her come home each week telling up what she learned. Her performance was so cute! She was so brave too! There were more than a couple of girls in her class that were crying and didn’t want to go on stage. Not our Maggie though! I asked if she was nervous and she said she wasn’t nervous at all. I love watching her age group do their dances. They are trying so hard to remember what to do, but mostly just stand there looking at the teacher! Maggie is the 2nd girl from the right and is pretty entertaining! It was really sad, because this one little girl actually peed in her pants towards the end of the dance. It is the little blonde 4th from the left…poor girl, but oh so funny!:) Maggie, you did a great job and we were so proud of you!!

David’s birthday was pretty low key this year, but a lot of fun! On Friday I took cupcakes to his class for him to share with his friends at school.  He also opened his presents and loved all of them!:)  We also got McDonald’s for lunch.  That night we had some pizza and more cupcakes.  Then Saturday was a full day.  We had the ward Christmas party Saturday morning.  Then we invited a few friends to go bowling with us and then they came over for some cake afterwards and played for a little bit.  Then we had Maggie’s Dance recital.  David was very specific about his cake this year.  I don’t know where he came up with the idea, but he said he wanted a chocolate chip cookie cake.  I said oh you want me to buy one and he told me he wanted me to make it…thank goodness for Pinterest.  I found the Cookie Company secret on there!:)  So I did it! I was nervous, but it turned out pretty good and pretty yummy!  It was a fun and busy day! We were lucky to have Grandma Turnbull there with us!  She is in town for David’s cousin, Sydney’s, farewell so we had her with us all day Saturday for all the festivities!  Thanks to everyone for helping make David’s day more special!

Seeing Santa!

We took the kids to see Santa at Cabela's.  It was quite a wait, but well worth it! The kids loved talking to Santa! He was very friendly and the kids just sat right on his lap and told him everything they wanted.  David got so excited, when it was his turn to tell Santa what he wanted that he had to stand up and tell him.  Maggie was quiet as usual,  but was sure to let Santa know what she wanted.  Parker just stared at him in wonder.  He had no idea what was going on, but was a good sport about it.  It was really fun seeing the kids with him.  Maggie told him that she wanted a scooter and a toy kitty cat.  David told him he wanted a tent, a girl puppy so Biscuit could have a girlfriend and they could have puppies, nerf gun balls and a bookshelf.  While we were waiting in line, we asked David what he was going to tell Santa he wanted and he replied, “I already sent him a letter, so he already know what I want!”  Too funny! So many fun things with this time of year!

P10107546th Birthday!!!

6 years old!!! How did these six years go so fast?! This time 6 years ago David made me a Mommy!  It seems like so long ago that I had him and held him for the first time.  It was such a special and emotional day.  I was 37 weeks along and went into the hospital at midnight on December 16th.  It was at 2:44 p.m. that David Pascal came into this world.  I saw him for a few seconds, but never got to touch or hold him as they rushed him over to check his breathing.  After the longest 45 minutes of my life, I finally got to see and hold my new baby boy and I have loved every moment since then.  He had a rough time starting out in life. He was in the hospital in NICU for 11 days, because he had sleep apnea which means he would sometimes forget to breath while he was asleep.  He also had bleeding on the brain and a lot of fluid in his lungs.  On top of that he had very bad jaundice and had to be under the rays all day and night except for every 3 hours, when they would let me feed him.  I was at the hospital constantly with him and by his side as long as they would let me stay there.  He had so many tubes and cords in his tiny little body, but he was such a fighter.  The nurses had a feeding tube in him for the first couple of days, but he would pull it out all the time. I was such a mess the whole time he was in the hospital.  The worst day was Christmas though.  Everything was just a blur that day and we tried to spend most of the day there with David.  There were so many miracles that happened, while he was in the hospital.  He had bleeding on the brain the first couple of days and then after our families did a lot of fasting and praying they did another scan of it and were shocked to see that it had cleared up somehow and couldn’t explain it.  After RSV, tons of ear infections, 2 sets of tubes and a few other sicknesses, he has survived and is an amazing healthy little boy now!  We are so blessed to have him in our lives.  He is such a happy, positive, outgoing, friendly, helpful and amazingly smart boy! He has so many talents and just a sweetness about him that makes everyone love him! Happy 6th Birthday David! We love you so much!!
