Happy Halloween

Biscuit the Bat Dog! I came up with a last minute costume for out little puppy!:)
Rapunzel and Cinderella aka Maggie and Milie at our ward trunk or treat!
David had to jump in the picture
Parker the Puppy. He got so many compliments on how cute he looked!:)

Perry the Platypus, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, Optimus Prime, Rapunzel and Parker the Puppy.

Maggie and Gabby the Evil Fairy

Maggie had a hard time keeping up with everyone.

Giselle the strangled, dead, pregnant lady. Awesome costume!:)

Gabby really wanted to "host" Halloween this year, so we headed down to Pleasant Grove to go trick or treating in Gabby's neighborhood, which is awesome because they live in a townhouse.  Which means twice the houses in half the amount of time.  The kids really hit the jackpot, especially Maggie.  She would just ask very sweetly if she could have 2 pieces or just stare at them as she reached in for another.  She also had a hard time keeping up with all of us.
It was perfect weather for trick or treating.  Just a little cool and still light out, when we started out.  We kept having to tell the kids a few rules.  Rule 1- only ring the door bell once and do not bang on the door.  Rule 2-do not be like a lurker and pier into the windows.  Rule 3-Say Trick or Treat and Thank you!:)
They broke 2 out of 3 rules.  Take a guess which ones!:)  The kids were done before we even got through Trish's whole complex.  Each one of them kept asking, if we could go home yet and they were tired and done.  Kids today!
One funny/almost sad thing that happened tonight.  We brought Biscuit with us to Trish's and he LOVES watching Gabby's pet hamsters run around the cage and will follow them around their whole cage.  We went up there to watch him do it for a while and Trish even opened the cage to see what he would do.  He didn't do anything.  Then we all went downstairs and Biscuit was upstairs with the hamsters unsupervised. We called him down a little while later and he came running down.  David looked at his mouth and noticed that he had something white in his mouth.  So then Biscuit laid down and David saw a little white thing come out of his mouth, then Biscuit ran after him again, caught him and then dropped him waiting for him to run.  David then stopped Biscuit and Trish caught the hamster.  It was awkward...luckily the kids saw none of this going on.  The hamster was very wet, but appears to be unharmed!:)  He loves playing with the zhu-zhu pets and we believe he just thought it was an extra small one and was trying to "have fun" with him.  Oh good times!! It has been a great Halloween season and we always look forward to this holiday at our house.

Cute Babies!

 Look how handsome Parker is!

 David and Gabby

Just some pictures of the kids! They were so excited to have Gabby over for a sleepover.  It had been a few weeks since they saw each other last!  Gabby is always entertaining.  I made pancakes for breakfast on Saturday.  I knew it was one thing that Gabby would eat...besides all my bread!:)  So we all sat down to eat and we asked Gabby to say the prayer.  Her prayer was, "thank you for all my cousins and for having such a great time playing with them and thank you for making baby Parker my cousin and for making him so cute."  It was pretty cute! She just has a conversation with Heavenly Father for each prayer. It is pretty entertaining.  I had made the pancakes into halloween shapes...which is why Maggie had her first meltdown of the day.  I made 2 witches hat, because I thought they might be pretty popular.  Even though I made 2,  Maggie still got offended and felt that it was not fair that Gabby got one too. So she spent the next 40 minutes in her room kicking and screaming.  Oh life with a 3 year old little girl and all the drama.  Anyways, while the rest of us were eating breakfast, Gabby told me probably 5 or 6 times that these were the best pancakes she ever had and that I did a great job.  She made me feel like an amazing cook!:) We had a great time with Gabby this weekend.  Oh another funny story  about Gabs.  When I picked her up from school on Friday, I told her it was my birthday.  She asked me if I made cupcakes, since it's bmy birthday and I told her that I wasn't going to make them because it was my birthday. I then said, "maybe your mom can make some for me." She was very offended by this and said, "Jenny my mom would have to go to the store to get cupcakes and MY MOM DOES NOT GO TO THE STORE ON FRIDAYS, JENNY! So she can't make you cupcakes, Jenny!"  She is a goofball!

My Birthday!

Our view from The Roof Restaurant
I had a great birthday this year.  As I have gotten older, birthdays have started feeling less like a special day and more like any other day of being a mom and a wife just with a cake or card telling me how old I am this year.  After 5 birthdays of being a mom, I have finally come to terms with what a birthday for a mom is like.  There is still a huge amount of laundry to do, dishes to put away, homework to do, diapers to change, explosions to change and so many other little tasks that come with being a mom and nothing much to make it unlike any other day.  Don't get me wrong, my family is great to me and I get a ton of phone calls on my birthday!  I used to never understand why my mom wasn't counting down the days until her birthday and why she wasn't more excited about her special day.  It took becoming a mom to understand!:)
This year was a great day! David told me Happy Birthday before going to work.  I got phone calls all day from my family.  Little David came downstairs and we were talking and I said, "David, guess what today is? It's my birthday!"  David responded, "Oh, well you better tell Dad, because I don't think he knows that it's your birthday.  I think he thinks it is Maddy's Birthday today. You better tell him!"  He walked out of the room shaking his head.  I was laughing so hard at his response!  Kids are so dang funny!:) We then went to a store, so I could get a new shirt, then we picked up some Chick-fila for lunch, then we dropped David off at school.  Then I went back to the house to drop Parker and Maggie off with Grandma Torgerson, then headed back to the school to help with David's Halloween Party. We did the Halloween Party, then went back home for about 45 minutes before leaving to go pick up Gabby in Pleasant Grove, because Trish was in Salt Lake City for the day and was watching my kids that night, so me and David could go out.  So since I didn't want to wait until 7:00 to go out, I sat in traffic for 45 minutes and got to Gabby's daycare to get her. We then turned back around and headed home. I came home to a bouquet of flowers in the front and a card from a very thoughtful friend of mine, Alice-Anne!  We got home and I had just enough time to feed Parker, change my clothes and freshen up a little bit before heading downtown to have dinner with David.  We went to eat at The Roof.  It is in the Joseph Smith Building downtown and amazingly yummy. We had never been there before and it was awesome.  It is a buffet of gourmet foods.  All the steak, shrimp, chicken and so many other things that you can eat!:)  Oh and a whole table of amazing desserts to choose from.  Oh soooo good!:)  Then David took me to get my present. A new camera!! I was in desperate need of a new one. Mine was a little beat up and slow.  Then we came home and he gave me my other present, a set of tools! I have been asking for this for a while.  I get so tired of using David's and going out to the garage anytime I want to change a battery in the kid's toys or hang something.  I was so excited!  It was a great day! Thanks to all y'all who made my day a little more special!

Pumpkin Time!

I love these pictures of the kids!

David did this pumpkin of me!:) He did a great job!
We love Halloween at out house! We love the decorations, the candy, the scary movies, the costumes, but most of all we love it because it means that my birthday is nearby!:) HaHa! This year we got some pumpkin decorating kits, so the kids could really do their own pumpkins! They loved it and had a ton of fun doing them.  I ran out of time to do my own pumpkin this year somehow.  Sad, but true.  I've still got a few days, so maybe I will have time...it's not looking good though!:)  Another Halloween is almost here and it is going to be a great one!

How Fast Time Goes!

Doesn't Parker look adorable in his church outfit?!
 Look how cute they look!:)
Parker is in such a cute phase right now.  He is finally happy majority of the time. I am much happier too!:)  Just some cute pictures of Maggie and our chubby baby!

Deeda and Grandpa's Visit

Mom reading stories to the grandkids!

We are so lucky to have Mom and Dad come out almost every April and October to visit us...and to go to General Conference!:)  It is just for a few days, but the kids love every minute of it!  There is always a ton of food (mostly made by Mom!) and a lot of laughing.  Most of the laughing is at Gabe, which we know he loves.  We always enjoy going downtown to the conference center to listen to the Prophet and Apostles speak to us and it is always so uplifting.  This time Mom and Dad invited an old family friend of theirs, Marjo, to conference with them and it was great to meet her and hear some funny stories about Mom and Dad.  Then we had Ashlee Weber go with us to Sunday Conference and had a great time as well! 6 months never comes fast enough until the next conference! I am very excited about next conference, because we will be celebrating Parker's first birthday! It works out perfect that Mom and Dad will be able to be here for it, so it will be close to the huge 1st birthdays Maggie and David had.  Thanks Mom and Dad for coming out to see all your Utah family.  We always enjoy the visits with y'all and are anxious for the next one!

6 Months!!

Parker Scott is 6 months old!! How did this happen?? It has flown by so fast! Parker has gotten to be a pretty good baby.  He has mellowed out a lot now that he can do more things on his own.  He is eating solid foods like a pro and always wants a bite of anything we have.  He reaches for everything and it instantly goes in the mouth.  He has been sitting without falling for the past 3 weeks.  He laughs at everything Maggie and David do. He said, "Mama" last Saturday morning, when he saw me.  He says "babababa" and has said "dada" a couple of times.  He has gotten into the screaming phase, where he screams really loud when he is excited.  He rolls like a pro, but doesn't like laying.  He prefers sitting.  He sleeps in his bed no problem and can get himself to sleep after little or no crying...except in the middle of the night.  He still wakes up quite a bit during the night.  He still loves his exersaucer and has not been in his swing for about a month and a half.  He rubs his ears a lot as a comfort and sometimes sucks on his fingers.  He is a big flirt and will look at anyone until they acknowledge him and give him a smile back.  He is getting better at being away from Mommy, but not for too long still. He loves to snack on bread and the little baby puff things, which helps when Mommy is away.
Parker weighs 18 pounds 5 Ounces and is 25 & 1/2 inches.  He is in the 75th percentile for weight and the 25th percentile for height...so he is short and fat right now!:) The doctor said he is right on schedule for everything and is perfectly healthy! He got 4 shots and was pretty sad the whole day and night after them.  We love having our little baby boy and love watching him grow and change everyday.
